Hello everybody! I hope you all are having an amazing week! I have been so busy this week trying to prepare for my first YouTube beauty video. (Insert anxiety here) it pretty much consists of planning, finding the perfect light, dealing with tripods etc. It's a lot of work but I am hoping it's worth it! Awhile ago, I had put this product I am about to review for you on my wishlist, and the second I saw it in stores I grabbed it. I have been using it for about three weeks now, and I'm ready to let you guys know what I think!
This mask retails for $30.00 CAD at The Body Shop and promises bouncy, smooth, and renewed skin by morning. The size of the jar is 90ml, which is a great value considering the price. This mask is meant to be used as the last step of your nighttime skincare regime. This means it does not replace a moisturizer, it gets layered on top of it. I won't lie, this is a sticky feeling product, but I will say this. This made my skin look great in the morning time. It felt hydrated and plumped, and I thought I was going to love this product.
The texture was what intrigued me the most about this product. It's a jelly type formula, and it truly is a bouncy mask. It doesn't have an overly perfumey smell, and it didn't sting my skin, which I loved! (I have a very atopic skin type, and a lot of things irritate me!)
The stickiness is something to talk about. I take this product all around my face, and down my neck. It looks very wet upon application, but once it dries, you feel serious tackiness. I'm talking, if you look down and look back up, your chin peels off of your neck tackiness. If you go to bed immedietly, your face will stick to the pillow cases, resulting in a fairly scary peel off effect when you decide to move, or flip sides. It's something I would be willing to deal with, but the last straw for me was the red dots that my skin started to develop while using this.
I think that if you have a skin that doesn't over react to a lot of things, and you want something to hydrate and plump the skin, you might like this. Like I said before, the sticky feeling was bearable, and if my skin wouldn't have reacted to this, I would be keeping it. Unfortunately, this will be getting returned to The Body Shop today. I'm not ready to write off all of The Body Shop products yet, I still want to try their Vitamin E range, so I will keep you guys updated on what I decide next! For now, it's back to my CeraVe that my dermatologist put me on. Le sigh. The packaging of CeraVe is just so blah.
