Review: SST Cosmetics!

Hey beauties! How is it going? I hope everyone is having a better day than me today. I had to take Dexter to the vet, and anyone with a cat probably can relate to the horror of taking a cat in the car. Alas, we both survived and we are snuggled safe at home again. I wanted to blog about a new company I was introduced to a few weeks ago. SST Cosmetics is a Canadian company (love that!) and they boast healthy ingredients, taking out things like Parabens and Talc. The company is also 100% cruelty free. The 2015 Spring Collection "Quintessential" was sent my way, and I am finally ready to let you guys know what I think about the products I was able to try!

High Shine Lip Polish in "Vital": $19.95 CAD
Hydrating Lipstick in "Stripped": $19.95 CAD
Silky Eyeshadow in "Composed": $17.95 CAD
Silky Eyeshadow Combo in "Mild": $21.95 CAD

I have been playing with this collection since I got it, and to be honest, I was very nicely surprised. The first thing I applied to my skin was the eyeshadows. The eyeshadow combo in Mild is a duo of two very neutral eyeshadows. The shadow pan is divided between a matte cream shade, and a beige colored shimmer shade. I like how you get two different colors and two different textures in one pan, this has already come in handy while travelling. I will apply the matte shade all over my lids from lashline to brow bone, and use the more shimmery shade on the inner corners of the eyes to open up the eyes. The texture of the SST eyeshadows are not as silky as I am used to, however the pigment is great. The shade composed is a new favorite of mine. It blended so easily on the lid, and as always, I tested these shadows with absolutely no form of eyelid primer. I wore the shadow for over 12 hours, and I had no trace of creasing, fading, or smudging. The color looks very true to what you see in the pan. I get a lot of compliments on my eyes everytime I wear this color.

The next product I want to let you guys know about is the Hydrating Lipstick in "Stripped". Before I even start, you should know that I am not a huge fan of shimmery lipsticks. By itself, this was not something I enjoyed wearing. The color is absolutely beautiful, but the texture of a lipstick that has a lot of shimmer in it, just doesn't appeal to me. I did however continue to play with the product, and found that it looks beautiful when applied to the centre of the bottom lip. It gives a beautiful shine to the lip, and adds volume. If you are someone who does enjoy shimmer in their lip products, I am sure you would love this as your Summer nude lipstick!

The last item in the collection that I tried has become a complete new favorite of mine. The High Shine Lip Polish in "Vital" has become my new purse gloss. I have worn this almost everyday since I got it, and when it is gone, I will be repurchasing this. This shade is a mauve-y pink that is a perfect "your lips but better" color for me. I love this worn alone, and I also layer it on top of my Dior "Greige" lipliner.  The texture is not too thick or sticky, and it doesn't gather in the corners of my mouth like some glosses can. I absolutely love the packaging, it comes with a doe foot applicator, but the plastic part that holds the gloss has a little give to it, so you can really squeeze out the product when it starts to run low. This is one of these products that I use so frequently, that I will repurchase for sure. If you are looking for that perfect everyday color, and you enjoy a shiny gloss that doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the lips, you should definitely try this out. It was worth getting to know the brand for this product alone. I can't say enough good things about it!

Overall, I was very happy with this brand. I would love to try some of their other lip products that don't have shimmer in them, and I definitely want some more shades of the High Shine Lip Polishes. Vital is a part of the Spring 2015 collection, so hopefully I will be able to reorder it because the color is perfect!

This brand has some beautiful products that would be good for anyone to try, but if you are someone who is interested in a paraben/chemical free line, and no animal testing is important to you, this is definitely a line you should check out!

This line is available at over 70 salons in Canada, or if you prefer, you can shop online.

Thank you guys so much for reading!
