It feels good to sit down with my knotty hair up in a bun, no makeup on, and a onesie on. This is what I love about blogging. No need to get fancy. Filming however is quite different. Have you guys seen my YouTube videos yet? They're new and I'm still working on them, but I am really enjoying filming so far. I have to make myself look presentable (at least from the waist up) so it's forcing me to use makeup on my days off! (Hopefully I'll see the bottom of some products this way!)
I showed you guys in a haul video, the new palette from Smashbox. It's called Crush on Blush, and is available exclusively for a limited time at Shoppers Drug Mart. It retails for $55.00 CAD, and contains four blushes, bronzer, and a highlight.
The pigmentation is great for all of these products. They are a little powdery, so make sure to tap your brush off before you apply to the face. Upon swatching, I thought the "Shimmer" shade would be a bit dark for my fair skin tone, but it works just fine. It doesn't give me the stark look of my Laura Mercier Highlight 01, but it definitely makes the light hit those cheekbones.
The wear time is really nice on these blushes too. I don't notice them fading throughout the day, and they blend really nicely. Having a few different colors to work with everytime you do your blush, allows you to mix, or do an ombre style cheek with a lighter and a deeper color.
The packaging is magnetic, and feels nice and solid. I wouldn't be nervous to travel with this, and I will be getting a lot of use out of it!
All in all, I really love this palette. Even if you already own Shimmer, I still think it's worth it. I know that these are quite limited however, so if you're interested, move quickly!
Do you think you guys will pick this up?

I absolutely LOVE this palette. I love the packaging, the large mirror and how slim it is. It will be perfect for travel, and it gives you a nice shade range. I will state the obvious, Warm Apricot and Guava are a little too close for my liking. I wish they would have made a different color (maybe a hot pink) to give more options. Shimmer is available in the Smashbox line all the time, so keep that in mind if you already own it. The bronzer is defintely warm, and I wouldn't recommend that you contour with it. It's not shimmery, so you could get away with it if you're travelling and are in a pinch. But for daily use, Id use it more to warm the skin up than carve out my cheekbones.
Some blog posts might seem ridiculous. This is a safe environment for Beauty Junkies! If you bought something just because of the packaging, or you find yourself procrastinating by swatching, this is the place for you.
