Hey Everyone! I am writing this on an actual computer which is a huge difference for me, as 99% of my blogging is done on my Iphone. Weebly has recently changed the app, and I have decided to stop trying, for fear of smashing my phone into the concrete in frustration. Everything is fine for about ten seconds, until my entire post switches to the previous post that I had written. (In this case, the Lancôme lipstick post!) Alas, the show must go on, so we will see how this goes! Sometimes I wonder if I should switch to Instagram only reviews .... Short and Sweet! Any feedback on that!?
Recently I picked up some items at Sephora, one being the newest member to the Glam Glow family Pout Mud. This two step "fizzy lip exfoliating" treatment promises to buff away dead skin, and leave your lips feeling smooth, supple and hydrated. After purchasing on a total whim (for $49.00 CAD - even though the sign said it was $32) I quickly read reviews and really got nothing but great feedback. I used the product for the first time, and thought the lip scrub to be a little too messy. Lots of wasted product, and I feel like you would go through it very quickly. It feels very refreshing, and has a strong mint essence to it (which I didn't mind at all). When you put water on the lips to rinse the product off, you feel a slight "fizzing" sensation, one that I was expecting to be more thrilling. After the product is completely rinsed off, you apply the second step, a hydrating balm, and you're all set. The balm also has a minty smell/feel to it, and its a bit oilier than I would have liked. To be honest, my lips get so dry in the colder months, that things like texture, taste and smell mean nothing to me. It could smell like gasoline and feel like hot candle wax on my lips. If it was efficient, I would use it.
This product just hasn't given me the results that I wanted. If anything, my lips are even more dried out, and definitely more flaky. Taking a few minutes out of my day to get a hot facecloth to buff away dead skin on my lips and apply a thick balm has become a routine. And whether its related or not, I now have a small blister on my bottom lip. The product says to use the exfoliator 2-3 times a week, and the balm as often as desired.
For a $49.00 price tag, I was hoping to be wowed and have my dry lips gone forever. This will be going back to Sephora tomorrow, as the VIB Rouge closed sale is from 7-9 (In Halifax Shopping Centre, don't miss it!) I am back in the same boat as before, with dry chapped lips. I recently tried a sample of Fresh lip serum, and I think I liked that ... And I already know the BITE Agave lip mask does absolutely nothing for me. Someone HELP!
Lastly, I apologize for the awkward photos ... Its really hard to photograph two super reflective balls without getting myself in the picture! I didn't think you guys would want to see me in my fuzzy robe ..
Some blog posts might seem ridiculous. This is a safe environment for Beauty Junkies! If you bought something just because of the packaging, or you find yourself procrastinating by swatching, this is the place for you.
