So after some serious life searching, I have come to the conclusion that I am just not a full coverage foundation kinda gal. After recently trying (and returning) the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation, I had the chance to try the new Smashbox BB water. This is a close to water formula (I say close to because it does have more thickeness to it than water, think of a very fluid serum or a thicker toner consistency) and it provides a sheer but buildable coverage that gives a lot of radiance to the skin. My shade from the entire line is Fair/Light. I still feel like it's not my perfect match, but it's the closest I could get. I feel like Smashbox colors are always very yellow based, and there isn't a large selection for people with more pink undertones. Luckily I made it work, because I do truly love this BB water! If applied in the morning, I do need to touch up mid afternoon, but the product itself wear well and does not separate on my skin!
I have tried applying this with my fingers, a damp sponge, and a brush, and I have to say I prefer my fingers or the sponge. I was surprised the first time I used it at the coverage. I suggest starting in the centre of the skin and blending outwards to get the most natural look. This formula has an SPF 30 which is fantastic and it is also oil free. I think this would be a great option for people who feel that sunscreen breaks them out. My usually dry, now combination skin loves it! I love how unlike the Marc Jacobs, it has an actual dropper, which means zero contact with the skin is needed. It will keep the product so much cleaner! Smashbox recommends starting with two drops, and building if you require more coverage. A small issue I ran into was major creasing under the eye. If you use this product under the eye, instead of a concealer, I highly suggest setting the undereye area well with a setting powder. It's an easy fix, but if you don't do it, it will be crease city! I will post swatches below, which hopefully will be helpful for anyone trying to decide on a shade. Also be aware that the packaging is glass so be careful not to drop it! Where it's not packing you can use with one hand it's definitely a risk! A tip for this is to wrap rubber bands over the bottle, this will act as a shock absorber if it slips from your hand!
This product retails for $50.00CAD, and it definitely gets my stamp of approval. I love the sheer but buildable coverage, the radiance, and the water like texture. It feels so nice and light on the skin and I will continue to wear this throughout the summer!
I am in the process of playing with the new 24 hour CC concealer and the new brow products from Smashbox! I will of course let you guys know what I think!

Hey beauties! Welcome back to my blog! I am writing today to give you guys the low down on some new eyeliner products from Stila. I absolutely love the Stila Stay all Day liquid eyeliner, so this eyeliner definitely intrigued me when it launched. Keeping on trend with the cushion craze, these eyeliners look like your average gel eyeliner, but when opened they actually resemble my beloved Lancôme Miracle Cushion foundation. I tested out three of the six available shades, and below are my thoughts!
The pigment of these eyeliners is amazing! The black one really impressed me, but don't assume they are all made equal! I found that the purple shade was quite watery, and I found it difficult to get a solid line with the watered down formula. The other two shades I have are absolutely amazing. They apply very easily with an angled brush (Stila did release a new brush with the collection that I opted not to get) and they do not smudge what so ever! The first time I saw the taupey-good shade, my mind immedietly went to an eyeshadow base. I tried several different ways, but I found the pigment was just a little too intense and they weren't easy enough to blend out. (Understandable, as these are eyeliners, not cream shadows!) A friend of mine who has darker skin was able to use them in this way, I think it was just too stark on my super fair skin.
These eyeliners (with the exception of the purple) were exactly what I expected from Stila. They retail for $36 CAD and if you are looking for an eyeliner that has super rich pigment and is easier (in my opinion) to apply than a liquid pen style liner, definitely give these a try! I find I have a lot more control when I get to use a brush with my eyeliners. They held up absolutely all day, and to be honest, there is nothing I would change about them!
These are a part of an entire new collection from Stila. I am excited to keep trying the new products as I get my hands on them, and I of course will let you guys know what I think!
