Summer always brings great things. Longer days, patios and bronzed skin. Another thing I look forward to every year is the Lise Watier Summer Collection. For as long as I can remember, the collection has always been revolved around their HG bronzer, and this year is no exception. I have several of these bronzers, and although they are (I assume) the same product, I can never resist the packaging changes. This year was all based on Nautical inspiration, and being born in bred right beside the ocean, I had to have it. Luckily for me, Lise Watier reached out and wanted to send me a few pieces of the collection, and I have chosen two of them to feature. Along with the items I am going to tell you guys about come a couple of new core products including a deep green coloured eyeliner and three new shades of my favourite Rouge Fondant Supreme. And as always, some limited items such as liquid eyeshadows, a vibrant blue mascara, and two nail colours. If you are interested in purchasing something from the collection, they are available at Shoppers Drug Mart or you can order online here.
The bronzer from this collection is always a sold out product every year, and for good reason. It is a very flattering colour that is never orange or patchy on the skin. I love how versatile the bronzer is because I can use it if I am fully self tanned, but I can also use this bronzer when I am at my most fair. With the marbled texture, it adds a rosy glow as well as a bronzed look. I have never even come close to hitting pan on one of these babies, and I am always pleased to see the sheer size of it every year! The bronzer retails for $44.00 CAD. As for the other large palette in the collection ($55.00 CAD) I am pleased to say that I have been getting use out of this almost daily. My first reaction was very similar to what yours might be ... I will never wear that blue eyeshadow shade. I have dabbled in these shades (as some of you may know I recently had to have an emergency surgery to remove my appendix) so I really have had time to play with these colours, and I have to say even though the light blue shade doesn't swatch as smoothly as I would like, it actually looks quite nice on the eye. The navy shade has been great as an eyeliner, I always prefer a more smudgy looking liner, as opposed to a harsh line, and the colour really helps pop the whites of your eyes. The neutral tones in this palette are really what sold me. The buttery matte brown shade (which can also be used as a brow powder!) became a fast favourite, and the taupes and purple shades look stunning on the eye! I have gotten so many compliments while wearing this palette, and I am able to complete an eye look without reaching for a separate palette. The blush that lives in the middle of the palette was also a great choice. I have tried this on many different skin tones, and it seems to be one of those unicorn shades that looks nice on everyone! I was satisfied with the pigment and the blendability, and the soft peachy shade pairs well with any colour combination you could come up with from the palette. The packaging is very sturdy, and the mirror is fantastic. This will be in my travel bag next time I am on the road, not only for the array of product, but the giant mirror is always a bonus!
I hope you guys get a chance to check this collection out and play in store with it! It definitely brightened up my recovery process, and I will be using these all summer!
