One of my favourite blog posts to read is what people are using. Any sort of products, whatever they may be interest me, but skincare has always been a soft spot for me. Lately I've been thinking that I'm in a skincare rut, and the last few days I've noticed it's not a rut at all. I've been repurchasing and using the same products for what seems like eternity and guess why? Because they work, and keep my sensitive skin happy!
Let me break down what I do for my nightly regime. Now this isn't any special add ons like masks and exfoliants - this is the daily grind. And I absolutely love every single one of these products. I'll run through them in the order that I use them!
Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Solution - If you have been a follower of mine for five minutes, you already know about my obsession with this. It removes my face and eye makeup, cleanses my skin on nights that I'm simply too tired to do the double cleanse, and leaves it feeling soft and not stripped of moisture. Lately I've been using it on a facecloth instead of using facial cotton. Not only does it create less waste, but I get a quick exfoliation nightly when I use my face cloths!
Clarisonic Mia and Philosophy Purity Cleanser- I absolutely love these two together. It doesn't give me a super foamed up cleanse, which I normally enjoy, but I love that this cleanser can be used on the eyes to get any last traces of mascara off. Great for days when waterproof mascara is a must! When using the Clarisonic, I always apply the cleanser all over my damp face with my hands first, and then go in with the Clarisonic. I find the cleanser spreads easier that way, and it's not just concentrated on the first place I put the Clarisonic down on.
Kiehls Ultra Facial Toner - This is the first toner that I have ever repurchased. I got my first taste from a deluxe sample given to me, and I wasn't long going to pick up my own bottle. I use this every night and my skin loves it. It gives my skin an extra boost of hydration, and it feels soothing as soon as I apply it. It's thick enough that I just shake some into my palm and press it into my skin, again letting go of the need for facial cotton. I find I use much less product this way, and the environment is happy to not see all that cotton being thrown away!
Kiehls Iris Extract Activating Essence Treatment- When I first started using this product, I thought it was an extra step that wasn't going to wow me. It wasn't until it got pushed to the back of the rotation and I stopped using it that I really started to appreciate what it did for my skin. It has become a great mild exfoliant for me, and the texture of my skin really improves when I am consistent with it. I am still working through a deluxe sample size, and because you only need a few drops, it has lasted forever! I also shake some of this into my palms and press it into my skin. (Don't forget to use the excess on your neck and the back of your hands!)
Khiels Midnight Recovery Concentrate- This is my third bottle of this product. The biggest difference for me when I use this, is the redness in my skin. If I am inflamed or dealing with some leftover breakouts, this magical stuff clears my skin by morning everytime. I have come to love the scent of it so much, as soon as I smell it, my body knows it's time to start winding down. It truly is a senatorial product that I will continue to use for the foreseeable future.
Shiseido Wrinkle Resist 24 Eye Cream- I don't remember ever using an eye cream that I love as much as this. The texture is so thick and hydrating, that signs on dehydration lines are diminished imwith just one use. I always tell people that eye creams are not magic. They are also one of the first things that people skip when they get lazy with their skincare. Rule number one: You can't expect anything to work while it's just sitting collecting dust on your vanity. Slathering this on at nighttime makes sure that my skin is plump and prepped for makeup the next morning, and it absolutely never fails me. If I wake up through the middle of the night, that layer of moisture is still there! I have yet to come across an eye cream that will completely rid you of all wrinkles, but this one is damn close! I apply my eye creams before my face creams, because I find I use a lot less of both that way, and I always have the tendency to slather my face cream under my eyes if I apply them first.
Clarins Multi-Activ Night- This must be my fourth of fifth jar. It got me through an entire Fall/Winter season last year and kept my dry patches at bay. It also does not irritate my sensitive skin, and it doesn't feel overly tacky. (Who wants to stick to their pillowcase at night?) It is one of the only antioxidant based creams that doesn't irritate me, and I am smitten!
Clarins Super Restorative Décolleté and Neck Concentrate- If you guys want to jump all over me and call me on my diva ways, this would be the product to do it with. But I can't help it. This immediately makes the skin on my chest look better, and it truly has helped me with the dreaded line going down the middle of my chest. I am a side sleeper tothw extreme. Not only do I sleep on my side, but I seem to want to curl into the fetal position, and the deep line that would take forever to go away in the morning is finally starting to relax. I'm a girl that's all about prevention when it comes to skincare. It is SO much easier to start a great routine earlier than it is to wait until things start to really become a problem. This has a hefty price tag, but it will continue to be by my bedside as long as I can afford it!
I know this skincare routine might look daunting, but it takes me less than five minutes to get this done and get in bed. I'm so curious to know what you guys are using! Let me know in the comments or leave your skincare regime if you're a blogger as well!
