Hi everybody! How is everyone coping after The Oscars? I am still pretty upset that Bradley Cooper didn't win Best Actor, and that American Sniper didn't win Best Picture. It's no secret how I feel about Clint Eastwood, and I would have loved to see that movie get more credit! For those of you who don't know yet, on February 20th, I started an Instagram account @clintorbust , and the goal is to reach Ellen Degeneres and meet Clint himself. Reach for your goals folks! :)
Now onto a review of a product I recently tried out. Intensive Lip Care Gel Patches by Look Beauty. I saw these at Shoppers, and they seem to be promising everything that my lips need right now. Hydration and Smoothness is the goal with these babies, and after using them, I am pretty satisfied.
These patches retail for $9.99 CAD, and you get 4 individually wrapped patches. The instructions seem simple enough, the only issue I had was knowing what side to apply to my lips. It instructs you to apply the shiny side to the lips, but both sides looked the same to me. I applied it one way, and felt like the patch was having trouble adhering to my lips, so I flipped it around and as soon as I did, I knew that must be the correct way to wear it. You have to leave these patches on for 15-20 minutes, and talking or drinking/eating, is not a possibility. If you are using these for a special night out, I would recommend applying this before your eye makeup application, and then you could finish the rest of your makeup after you remove the patch.
Let's all take a second and laugh at how ridiculous I look. I'm not sure who these lip patches were designed to fit, but they cover a large part of the area between my nose and my chin. It says on the package not to use on blemished skin, so tread carefully when dealing with that. I left my patch on for the full 20 minutes. The patch definitely adheres more and more to the mouth the longer you leave it on. It wasn't hard to remove at all, but when I did remove it, I noticed that there wasn't any residue left over. The package tells you to rub in the excess, which I couldn't really do because there wasn't any. After removal, I applied a thin layer of Aquaphor, and my lips feel great. I also noticed the skin around my mouth looking a little bit more plumped. While this isn't something I would use everyday, I think it's a great product to have on hand for those special occasions, or for those deadly cold winter days.
What is your absolute favorite lip treatment? I am always looking for the next best thing !
Some blog posts might seem ridiculous. This is a safe environment for Beauty Junkies! If you bought something just because of the packaging, or you find yourself procrastinating by swatching, this is the place for you.
