Oh do I have a review for you guys. This is one of these product reviews that excite me, because the product is exactly what I wanted it to be. The new PUR Eye Polishes caught my eye immediately, and I was not disappointed. Let's go through the run down of what we are dealing with here ...
6 metallic shades that come in the ever so popular `netting`packaging, each sold with their own silicone applicator. These products retail for just over $30.00 CAD, and can be used in a few different ways depending on the effect you want to achieve.
These polishes can be worn alone as a highly saturated color, used as a primer, or used as a top coat to add a little glitz and glam to your eye look. Upon first application I knew immediately that I prefer my fingers over the silicone brush that comes with the product. I find the silicone makes for a more patchy application, and using my fingers was so much faster.
Below I am going to post two separate photos of the swatches. The first is in regular daylight, and the second is what these shadows look like when a light hits them. Get ready to be wowed!
(From Bottom to Top: Cashmere, Satin, Silk, Velvet, Suede and Caviar.)The light takes these polishes to the next level. I am mesmerized by them everytime I swatch them! When I was testing these shadows, I wore a few different shades on different days. One of my favourite ways to wear these is to apply a light shade like Satin all over the lid, with some black liquid liner and lots of mascara. On the other hand, I recently had a holiday party to attend, and I went all out. Full fledge application of Caviar, all over the lid with a winged liner and lots of coats of mascara. I did not use a primer with this, because I knew it was going to be one of those dragging yourself home at 3AM nights. When the party started I was checking about every half hour waiting for it to crease. At some point in the night, I just stopped checking because the polish was staying rock solid on my lid. It wasn't until I got home around 3:30AM after many cocktails and lots of dancing with friends that I saw one or two extremely small creases. I could not have been more impressed with the wear time, and I was getting compliments on my eyes all night long. (You always know you`re doing something right when people tell you to stop and close your eyes so they can look!)
Satin has become my absolute go to for day to day wear, but I cannot wait to wear Velvet at some point. The texture of thee shadows is definitely fluid, and I recommend shaking the jar up well before use. They are not messy due to the net packaging that we are starting to see everywhere, and the only real advice I have is to use your fingers and not the silicone applicator to put them on. Those silicone applicators are fantastic for applying glitter to the eyes however, so don't throw it out!
These shadows get a total thumbs up from me, and they are making a wonderful addition to my makeup collection. Perfect for the Holiday Season, and the only thing can hope for is an extension in their color line!
PUR (I guess they have changed their name from Pur Minerals to just PUR) Has really been stepping up their game lately. I got a few of their products lately, and I have been happy with all of them!
I will try my best to get a haul video up for you guys at some point ... it has been a crazy month, and I haven't had the opportunity to sit down and film yet!
Some blog posts might seem ridiculous. This is a safe environment for Beauty Junkies! If you bought something just because of the packaging, or you find yourself procrastinating by swatching, this is the place for you.
