Living in Canada, I am used to seeing a lot of cosmetic items raved about online. There are a lot of products that we just simply can't get here, and ordering online is something that I just don't enjoy doing. I have been seeing these LA Girl Lip Paints blowing up my Social Media - and I mentally filed them away with the other products I probably will never get to try. Well wouldn't you know it, walking in the drugstore the other day, I saw them. I was shopping with Sabah, and immediately grabbed her arm and screamed. This was a huge deal. The two colors I grabbed first were Blushing, and Elude.
I really didn't know what to expect from these products. I knew they were full opaque color, and I knew that a lot of people were claiming that they found dupes for the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. Let me tell you right from the start, I disagree with that.
The texture of these is more of a liquid lipstick, and I find the texture of the Melted Lipsticks to be more that of a ...well, melted lipstick. It's a thicker texture than the LA Girl, and in my opinion, less stressful to apply. The trick with these LA Girl Lip Paints, is a lip brush. Because they are so fluid, and so opaque, applying directly from the tube can be tricky.
Once applied, these lipsticks look and feel amazing. They are minty, and don't feel sticky or heavy on the lips. They do not have the most outstanding lasting power, and definitely can pick up on dry flakes if you have them on your lips (especially the Elude shade!) So be sure to exfoliate regularly with a warm facecloth, or a sugar scrub! These lip products retail for $5.98 CAD and are worth it for me! I will be going back to purchase a red shade, and maybe a nice bright pink for Spring!
Don't let the similar packaging fool you on this one. These are definitely not a dupe for the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. A wonderful product in their own right, but if you're searching for an alternative, keep searching!
How is the weather where everyone is at? We had such a brutal storm yesterday in Nova Scotia. Snow, wind, flooding ... the whole she-bang. Now apparently everything has turned into an ice palace. Luckily, I have today and tomorrow off, so I will be toasty warm in the house!
