I would do anything for love ... But I won't do that! Three beauty products I refuse to buy because of their high price!
When I sit down and work out an actual budget, or I take the time to go through my purchases, I am always flabbergasted at how much money I spend on beauty products. It's fascinating, and sickening. My boyfriend just cannot believe how large my collection is, and will never understand my need to keep adding to it over and over. There is however, a line in the sand. Rarely, I will come across an item that just seems so outrageously overpriced, that even I won't suck it up and shell out the money. I obviously have not tried these products, and don't get me wrong, they could be amazing.... But I will never find out because unless I win the lottery, I will be spending my money on more important things. Like food!
$58.00 for a nail polish? Are you kidding me? I own and love my Guerlain Meterorites, so believe me when I say, I know what it's like to buy a fairly useless product because of the absolutely stunning packaging. But this is just too much for me. I have nail polishes that cost $12.00 and I feel guilty about buying those...
So this one I actually have tried. I was shopping at a Laura Mercier counter last year, and when I picked up my bath products, a lady offered me a sample of this cult classic cream. A sample of a cream that can cost up to $2000? Yes please. I proudly took it home and used it for a few days, and I honestly was not wowed at all. Not enough to say this is a bad product, but definitely enough to think twice before purchasing. (Even if I did have a ton of money!)
Ahh the Mason Pearson Brush. I have almost bought this guy so many times, but I just can't mentally get there. I love the way this brush looks, the vintage packaging kills me, and I am sure it is a great brush. But what makes this so much more amazing than the boat bristle brushes I can find in stores? I'll never know, because $300.00 on a hairbrush makes me shudder to my core.
Have any of you tried any of these three products? If you have, let me know what you think! Are they worth it or not? It kills me because 2/3 are on the 50 beauty items you need to buy before you die list from Allure magazine. Eek - that list is a weakness for me. I'm slowly working my way through, ticking off the items one by one ...

Some blog posts might seem ridiculous. This is a safe environment for Beauty Junkies! If you bought something just because of the packaging, or you find yourself procrastinating by swatching, this is the place for you.
