For all of you living in Canada (specifically the east coast) you know that getting that perfect sunkissed glow can be challenging - especially when you're still digging yourself out of snowbanks after what seems like the longest winter ever! Luckily, even without the glorious sunshine, us Canadians can fake that just vacationed glow and the new bronzers from Smashbox make it super easy.
Smashbox Bronze Lights come in two shades (Warm Matte and Deep Matte) and retail at $39.00 CAD for 0.29oz of powder. I use the term powder loosely, as these have the smoothest texture imaginable. As you may have heard me mention in previous posts I am not someone that wants a hard to work with bronzer. Being a fair girl, I like to find bronzers that I can use with a heavy hand to maximize the glow on my skin, without looking muddy, too dark, or cakey. All of my wishes were met with this bronzer. It blends so beautifully on the skin, and while maintaining the matte finish, it manages to give your skin that J-Lo glow without ever being sparkly.
These bronzers claim to be right hour wear, and I can say that I don't agree with that. I do find myself touching up throughout the day (usually just once) but I was quick to forgive this, as the product never looked too heavy on the skin even after reapplication. I love using this bronzer with my big fluffy bronzer brush (sadly a discontinued Smashbox brush) and the shade Warm Matte works great on my NC15ish skin tone. If you are in the market for a new bronzer, I highly recommend these beauties!
Quick tip with bronzers: If you find your bronzer looks splotchy when applying it after your liquid foundation, try using a very fine setting translucent powder inbetween. This will give the skin an even texture, and prepare it for the bronzers and blush. You will avoid having a slightly darker patch wherever you choose to place your bronzer first!
