I am ecstatic to say I am enjoying my first "long weekend" in what feels like forever. After a great sleep last night, and getting everything done this morning from laundry (even my bedding!) and making my lunch for the week, I find myself sitting down at 2pm with nothing to really do. I rarely find myself in this position, but I thought what a great time to get my first "lifestyle" post in! I thought about what has changed most in my life lately, and one of the first things that came to my mind was my wardrobe. Since leaving my old job behind, I have said goodbye to 90% of my black clothing, and I am welcoming in the Summer colours with open arms. The first few days at the office were horrible for me, because I simply wasn't organized! I found myself rapidly tearing my closet apart morning after morning, trying to figure out what colours go with what ( 7 years of wearing all black will do that to a girl) and I would always come home to a tornado of clothing to put away after work. I've started following so many amazing fashion gurus, and I have it down to a science now. I went out on one (okay seven) shopping sprees, and I got myself some basics. To avoid getting overwhelmed I packed my closet with color codes. Light pants, dark pants, shoes to go with light pants and dark pants ... countless blazers and blouses. And I have truly come to appreciate the neutral shoes. That can be another post for another day. Right now I wanted to let you guys know that if you do not already plan your outfits for the week, you must get aboard this train. Normally its a Sunday, and I will plan out five outfits jewelry and all, and put them on a hanger. All together and all ready, it is literally a matter of grabbing a hanger and putting everything on in the morning. Now that I am about a month into it, I am starting to know what works with what, and the process is just getting faster. There are a lot of other things I do to make my mornings go smoothly, but this has hands down been the biggest time (and stress) saver! I have been posting some of my outfit choices on my Instagram, and you guys seem to love it! I will continue to do so, and would love to be tagged in some of your outfits! The shopping will never rest for me, I feel like my possibilities have opened up and I am so excited to keep making outfits!
Do you guys have any major time savers in the morning? Let me know!

Alright guys, grab a snack and let's catch up. For someone that normally has no news, or much excitement going on in her life; your girl has got some serious news. Lots has changed in my life, and it will definitely be reflecting in my writing.
Let's go back to the beginning. I had been feeling less than fulfilled in my job for some time now. Let's be very clear, I absolutely love what I do, and the people that I work with are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I truly made some lifelong friends, and I am so grateful that I was able to do it for as long as I could. That being said, retail in general can be very taxing on you. I know a lot of you probably have worked a retail job at some point or other in your life, so I will leave it at that. Besides that, I was looking for a change that could accommodate my freelancing business better, and just give me a more scheduled life. Being a Type A personality, the thought of having structure in my schedule was a complete turn on for me. And to be honest, the opportunity kind of fell in my lap. I saw a posting on Facebook for an office administrative position. Full time, benefits, Monday-Friday. Say no more! I blew the dust off my resume that I hadn't looked at in seven years and thought I would take a shot in the dark at it. Fast forward, and I have found myself in an amazing office, with a great group of women. The job itself was a huge change, but along with it came a lifestyle shift. I pack my lunches everyday, I can plan my life without having to pine over schedules, and the most fun part? I do not have to wear black every single day! After the sheer panic of having to dress myself like a presentable adult five days a week wore off, I started shopping (at the thrift stores of course) and I have built up a pretty amazing wardrobe. I caught myself taking selfies of outfits, and really putting more effort into what I wear.
So here is where the changes are stemming from. Girl Met Blush will always be about Beauty. A makeup junkie doesn't just put her highlighters and lipsticks down because she got a new job. In fact, the women in my office keep me on my toes with beauty questions and dilemmas. And I did decide to keep my old job part time. But there are so many other things I would love to chat with you guys about! Fashion, accessories, lifestyle products etc. The list is truly too long to list. As you can imagine, working full time, with a part time job plus your own business on the side can take its toll, but with my schedule under control, I am hoping to be able to post more often, both on the blog and on Instagram! I already put up a post of a few outfits I've worn, and it will only grow from there!
My readers are the reason I have been successful with this blog, some of you have been with me from the very first post! I hope this change excites you, and you are looking forward to getting to know me on a bigger platform than just beauty.
If you have any questions, as always do not hesitate to ask!
